I’ve been very lucky, there haven’t been many obstacles in my life so far. However, I think the biggest was an ongoing problem at my primary school - my best friend moved away and I never really reintegrated back into the yeargroup. I was not well liked, right up until the end of year 6, but this prompted me to apply to a different secondary school which I am entirely certain has afforded me a far superior educative experience than my former classmates.

yesterday was an evening of up and down

tagged for safety, I dont want to trigger a person with my pathetic issues

it was the Ball, the first and last event in the architecture social calendar
i invoked girlfriend-ly privilege to get Guitarboy to come with
because I dont get to dress up very often, and hes sexy in a suit
and we overcame the initial awkwardness with the judicious application of alcohol, and we were having a nice time
and then i had to check
my
phone
my results for design had come back, and i didn’t make the grade
i need to resubmit with extra work done and improvements made
this fact threw me into a tailspin
i am not accustomed to failure, and i do my utmost to avoid it
it felt like how ive heard panic attacks described, though I’m not a regular sufferer.
i remember hyperventilating, and icecream at the place that’s open until midnight, and walking through the door of Guitarboy’s place, but I literally don’t remember any of the bits in between.

the overriding feeling is that ive failed, and that the world and everyone in it is disappointed
because the worst thing I can cause is disappointment

be euphorically happy, be gutwrenchingly sad, be fucking angry, but dont be disappointed, PLEASE

i texted my mum this morning
and i got a phonecall from dad when he was between meetings
and its all fine
the world hasn’t ended
it just means ill graduate in september, not june
but it doesnt feel good

seriously though
if guitarboy hadnt been there
i would be a lot less okay than i am right now
and im still not very okay
